Vinita’s Obituary Vinita Borders Services for Virgie Vinita Borders, 99, of Allen are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Allen Church of Christ, Mark Legg will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery.

Mrs. Borders passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home. She was born in the round Prairie Community on June 13, 1919 to William Andrew and Mary Ann (Nolen) Rail. Vinita attended Round Prairie School.

On July 6, 1940 she married Truman Borders in Holdenville. He preceded her in death January 13, 1993 after 52 years of marriage. Vinita was a long-time member of the Allen Church of Christ.

She was a homemaker, and also helped with the farm chores. She was a devoted wife and mother, and took great pride in her children and grandchildren and their families. Vinita is survived by two daughters, Janice Carty of Lake Oswego, OR and Janet Borders of Allen, OK; one daughter-in-law, Bobbie Kay Borders of Allen, TX; four grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Carty Tigard, OR, Michelle (Tim) Barrick, Allen, TX, Ryan (Julie) Carty, Oswego, IL, Melanie (Nathan) Storts, Allen, TX; and ten great-grandchildren: Aiden and Mira Carty; Melissa and Daniel Barrick; Noelle, Hailey and Finn Carty; Luke, Andrew and Emma Storts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Truman; infant son Ronald (October 1948), sons, Muriel (July 2005) and Kenneth (January 2007), a son-in-law, Barry Carty (March 2009); and all her siblings: brothers, Andrew and Lester Rail; sisters, Hester Maxwell, Fannie Davis, Ethel Wright, Opal Borders, Emma Jarrett and Clara Johnson. Bearers will be her grandsons: Michael Carty, Ryan Carty, Tim Barrick, Nathan Storts; and nephews: Bill Johnson, Jerry Johnson, WB ‘Dub’ Borders and Marion Borders.
