LEHMAN-MERBERGER—Violet E. (Berkebile), 98, Arbutus Park Manor, entered her eternal home on March 9, 2019, at the Manor. Born March 10, 1920, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Leventry) Berkebile. Preceded in death by first husband, Kenneth E. Merberger in 1988 and second husband, Galen Lehman in 2007; sisters, Virginia Berkebile, Henrietta Gilbert and Lois Hewitt; and brothers, Charles and Jerry Berkebile.

Survived by siblings, Fern Boyer and Dawn Elaine Giarrotano, both of FL; children, Sandra L. Gipe, wife of Frederick, Johnstown; Karen E. (Merberger) Palmer, widow of Chuck, CA; Kenneth J. Merberger, married to former Diana Rutledge, Johnstown; Step-children, Robert Lehman married to former Waltrude Hannaslauger and Cindy (Lehman) wife of Robert Butz; Grandchildren, Frederick and wife, Jody, Debroah (Gipe) wife of Barry D. Hitechew, GA, Douglas Ewig, CA, Greg Ewig and wife, Leona, HI, Brett Merberger and wife, Stephanie, Johnstown and Adam Merberger, Pittsburgh; Great-grandchildren, Darin and Megan Gipe, Shane Hitechew and wife, Samantha, Jacob and Joelle Hitechew, Blaine Ewig, Kimo, Kamuela and Cody Ewig, Raiden, Jeremiah and Preston Merberger; and Foster children, George Coccia and Steve Sinclaire. Violet was a member of the Grove Avenue United Methodist Church, Benscreek Lutheran Church and the Church of the Brethren in Lorida, FL. She was currently a member of Arbutus Church of the Brethren and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.

Violet was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was a big part of our lives and she will be sadly missed. Our sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Arbutus Park Manor for the loving care they provided to her. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Arbutus Church of the Brethren with Pastor Barron K. Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Arbutus Church of the Brethren or Arbutus Park Manor in memory of Violet.
