Abbuhl, 94, of Verona, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born December 20, 1924 in Rome, NY the daughter of George and Margaret Grabner Nessel. Violet was educated in Westernville and Rome Schools.

On March 30, 1950 she married Donald W. Abbuhl in Westernville, NY. He died November 29, 2009. She is survived by a son, James Abbuhl; her beloved grandchildren, Tamara and Matthew Abbuhl and Joseph Shaffer; great granddaughter, Savona Zigrino; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Nicholas Augustine. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome. Spring interment will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the Home for Funerals Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 4897 Old Oneida Road, Verona, NY 13478.
