Obituary for Violice Anna Carter Violice Anna Carter, 85, of Denton, departed life at Caroline Nursing Home on May 31, 2018. She was born at home on March 23, 1933 to the late Alonzo Haines and Eleanor Hines in Denton. She was educated at Ridgely Elementary School through the 6th grade before attending Lockerman Middle School in Denton.

She married Richard Carter and together they had 7 children. Her hobbies included playing the Maryland Lottery, watching Parader, riding around sight seeing, reading her bible and enjoying her grand kids. If you knew Violice, who lovingly went by Mama, you knew that she was a loving, caring person who shared her love by always being willing to help others.

Mrs. Carter, in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband Richard, sons Johnnie Richard Cater and Edward Lee Carter, two brothers Alonzo and Charles Hines, two sisters Albert Warner and Thelma Taylor. She is survived by children Mary Carter, James Carter, Wendell Carter, Maurice Carter and Helen Price, a special family friend who loved her like a mother, Leroy Fitchett, Sr., sister Mary Nail Little, sisters-in-law, Carole Wilson and Claire Franks, a host of grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren who she loved dearly and thanked god for them everyday. A funeral service will he held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Denton, Maryland with a visitation two hours prior.
