Virgil Frank McCranie May 9, 1975 – December 24, 2018 Virgil Frank McCranie, 43, of Panama City Beach, FL lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2018. He was born May 9, 1975 in Jacksonville, FL where he lived for 26 years. Virgil was the owner of Beachside Motorsports and had a zest for life like no other, he loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.

He was actively involved in his community by supporting them in anyway possible. You could always find him cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, ND Irish, Dodgers, and the Arnold Marlins. He enjoyed music of all genres, especially Elvis, and talking about old times.

He was the author of the book Desolation of Faith that was published in 2010. He was preceded in death by his son Virgil McCranie III, Grandfather Virgil McCranie, Grandmother Mildred McCranie, and mother Mary Quick. Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife Misty McCranie; daughter Elysium McCranie; sons Blaine McCranie, Dallas McCranie, and Dolan Poole; father Gordon McCranie; brother Sam McCranie; niece Darian McCranie; and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will be held Thursday Jan. 3rd, 2018 from 6-8pm at Southerland Event Center. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, Jan.

5th, 2018 at Gulf Beach Baptist Church with Dr. Gregory George officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery in Blountstown, FL.

Active pallbearers are Blaine McCranie, Dallas McCranie, Cade Ledman, Thomas Risalvato III, Tony Horton, and Trey Taylor.
