Virginia L. “Ginny” Lantz, 78, of Spruce Rd. , Karns City, passed away early Sunday morning, October 14, 2018 at the Chicora Medical Center while surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in Grove City on January 30, 1940.

She was the daughter of the late Burdette and Martha Gurney Hoffman. She was a 1958 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora. Ginny enjoyed dancing, singing, gambling trips with her sisters, and most especially the company of her grandchildren.

She and her late husband “Benny” were the owners of Lantzers Inn in Petrolia for many years. She was later employed at the deli at Friedman’s in Chicora. She married Albert B. Lantz on October 10, 1970 in Charleston, WV.

Mr. Lantz preceded her in death on June 16, 2010. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Tracy L. Belles and her husband, Richard, of Karns City; four grandchildren, Eric D. McCue and his fiancé Rayanna Furst, of Burlington, NC, Erin D. McCue of Portland ME, Ty B. Belles of Karns City, and Bambi Lynn Browning of Butler; five step children and a number of step grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Connelly of Cranberry, Joanne Bonnetti of Slippery Rock, and Marilyn “Putty” Arblaster and her husband, Doug, of Slippery Rock, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hoffman and a step daughter.

A private graveside service officiated by the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, was held Monday afternoon at North Side Cemetery, Butler. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.
