Obituary for Virginia Ann Schaal Virginia Ann Schaal, 83, of North Olmsted, peacefully passed away on February 16, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in South Hill, Virginia, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mattie (nee Watson) Smelley. She met her soul mate, James R. Schaal at a dance at the age of 17 and would have celebrated their 65th anniversary on July 19, 2018.

Virginia is the loving mother of James Jr. and Karen Bellomy; cherished grandmother of Kaylan Bellomy and Kyle (Amber) Bellomy; adored great-grandmother of Logan Bellomy; dear sister of Lewis (Shirley) Smelley and the late Carl (Barbara) Smelley and sister-in-law of Eugene, James and Donald Schaal, and the late Edward Schaal, Carolyn Rehm, Frederick, Arthur, William and Ralph Schaal and Helen Delman; loving aunt of many. Virginia was employed in the medical records department at Southwest General Hospital where she also oversaw the medical records volunteers. She retired in 2012 following 35 years of service.

Her family was her joy in life and she created many loving memories with her grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 4PM-7PM in the Sunset Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. , North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Thursday at 10AM.
