Virginia D. Guthrie, 89, of Harkers Island, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Carteret Health Care. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island, officiated by Rev. Clinton Nelson.

Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery on Harkers Island. Virginia was a member of the Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island. She was a true believer in Jesus Christ and was faithful to His Word.

She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Guthrie Davis and husband, Michael L. Davis, of Locust, NC; sisters, Rebecca Willis of Harkers Island, Leona Hall and husband, Sid, of Harkers Island; brother, Sunny Davis and wife, Joyce, of Morehead City; grandson, David Robin Floyd; great-grandson, David Allen Floyd; and great-great grandsons, Michael Floyd, Matthew Floyd and Nathan Floyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Guthrie; mother, Sarah H. Davis; and father, Stacy Wilson Davis.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island. Flowers are welcome. Online condolences may be made at www.
