OBITUARY Virginia M Hamernik October 10, 1918 – January 1, 2019 Virginia Mae Hamernik, 100, passed away on January 1, 2019. Born on October 10, 1918 to Wilbur and Elizabeth Patterson. Wife of 52 years to the late Everett Hamernik.

Survived by; Everett(Judy) Hamernik, Pat (Fred) DeJong, Tom (Kristin) Hamernik, Bob (Barb) Hamernik. Also survived by; 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren, sister Margeret, many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by parents Wilbur and Elizabeth, husband Everett, sisters; Ethel, Eleanor, Marie and Ruth.

Virginia was dedicated to her family, a loving and caring person. She was selfless, always considering others needs before her own. She assisted her blind sister and brother in law throughout their lives.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation for Virginia will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Reyers North Valley Chapel Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations in her honor may be made to Association for the Blind 456 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
