Virginia Marie Anderson, 84, passed away Sept. 1, 2018,surrounded by family and friends at the home of her daughter in Binghamton. A lifelong resident of Chenango County, Virginia was born in New Berlin and had been a long time resident of Norwich.

For many years Virginia worked as a welder at Simmons Precision. She was a skilled and versatile crafter who enjoyed ceramics, sewing clothing for her family, kitting, cross-stitch and her quilt club. Most importantly she valued family.

Family was the center of her life. She was the caregiver for anyone of them in need, from helping raise her younger siblings up to helping raise some of her grandchildren. Virginia was strong and strict, but always loving.

She is survived by her children, Frank Anderson, Beverly (Richard) Rothwell of Binghamton, Cinda (David) Turner of Eaton, Carol (John) Ramey of So. Carolina, David (Annie) Anderson of Norwich her daughter-in-law Joan Anderson of Norwich, 18 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her special longtime friends part of the “Four Musketeers” Bernice Brownell and Betty Barker. She was predeceased by her husband George Anderson, her son, George Anderson, Jr. 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 great-grandchilden and her friend Fran Winton.

A graveside memorial service for Virginia and George will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich, NY.
