Virginia Szuminski, 78, Marathon, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born in the Town of Cassel on October 1, 1939 to the late Frank and Helen (Gajewski) Szuminski. She went to work at Marathon Cheese in 1958 and worked there until her retirement.

In her free time, Virginia loved spending time outside, especially working in her garden. Survivors include her sister Jolanta (Frank) Jagodzinski, Edgar, her brother Sylvan (Gloria) Szuminski, Richfield, and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers Clarence, John and Edwin and sister-in-law Joyce Szuminski.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Felix Tigoy will preside.

Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
