Vivian’s Obituary Mrs. Vivian Hamlin Williams was born in Florence County, South Carolina on June 20, 1937. She was the first daughter of the late Eddie and Katie Williams Hamlin of Timmonsville, South Carolina. She quietly went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2019, at her home after an extended illness.

Vivian was educated in the Florence County Public Schools. Her religious experience began at the early age of 8 years old when she was baptized, received the Holy Ghost and became a member of Zion Temple Holiness Church in Timmonsville, SC. After marriage she moved to Winston-Salem, NC and joined Tenth Street Church of God, now Lula Street Church of God.

There she remained a faithful member serving on the Missionary Board, singing in the choir, kitchen aide and other auxiliaries as needed until her health failed. Vivian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook specializing in baking.

Her favorite cake was her prized pineapple layer cake. She acquired several hobbies during her life which included sewing, ceramics and gardening. She loved to laugh but more importantly, she loved making people laugh.

We’re sure she is in heaven performing antics to get a laugh from her friends and family members who are already there. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Lorine Battle, Cora Jones; and one grandson, Sammie Lee Bivins III. Vivian is survived by the love of her life, Moses Williams with whom she was married 3 months shy of 65 years.

She was a devoted mother to her children; Marsha (Alan) White, Glenn (Cynthia) Williams, Marie (Sammie) Bivins, Stanley (Barbara) Williams, all of Winston-Salem and Phillip (Julie) Williams, of Columbus, Georgia. Eleven grandchildren; Makeisha Todd, Leslie Garner, Jamison Floyd, Akeiva Williams, Aria Williams, Alamo Williams, Samantha Everette, Senora Bivins, Quwanna Martin, Channell Williams, and Jessica Farmer. Five great grand-children; Jarret, McKenzie, Diamond, Kingston and Amelia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday April 27, 2019 at Lula Street Church of God, 2227 Lula Street WS, NC 27101 WITH Minister Glenn Ray Williams officiating.
