Walter’s Obituary “To every thing there is a season, and a time and purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die”. – Ecclesiastes 3:1&2 Walter Lloyd Cunningham (“Walt”) was born on December 9, 1930 in Dublin, Mississippi to Mr. Van Cunningham, Sr. and Mrs. Deborah Smith Perryman Cunningham. Walter was a husband, father, brother, and a soldier in the United States Army.

He went to Korea to fight in that war and retired from Lockheed Aircraft Company in Burbank, California, and as a Master Sergeant for the U.S. Army reserve after more than 20 years of service. He lived a very full life of 88 years. Walter Lloyd Cunningham was one of 7 children and was preceded in death by his father, Van Cunningham, Sr.; his mother, Debora Smith Perryman Cunningham; his wife, Anne Louise Cunningham; his brothers: Percy Perryman, Robert Lee Perryman, Leroy Perryman, Sr. and sisters: Emma Jean Morris and Marjorie Deborah Cunningham.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Speede of Inglewood, CA and Bridgette Cunningham of Lexa, AR; a brother, Van Cunningham, Jr. of Clarksdale, MS; 2 grandchildren, Walter Speede and Jessaca Rowe; 2 great-grandchildren, Terrance and Maleah Rowe; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. “And God shall wipe away all tears for their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. – Revelation 21:4 Friends and relatives are invited to post messages and share memories.
