Wanda Alice Ward, age 83, of Duchesne, passed away May 16, 2018, at her home. She was born December 10, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to Shirley John and Wilda Jeanette Lydick Wilhelm. She married James Richard Clark and he later died.

She married James Ward, and he later died. Wanda worked for thirty years at and retired from Goodyear Aerospace, a company that helped build the Goodyear Blimp, the first rocket that went to space, and the Blackbird aircraft. She had a gift for gab and loved to converse with anyone and everyone – if you asked her how she was doing, you’d better have been prepared to discuss a while.

She was a tough lady who lost most of her hearing from Scarlet fever at age five, and had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer just a few years ago. Her only hobbies were her job, taking care of her family, and occasionally a trip to Wendover. She loved a rainy day and gray skies.

Wanda is survived by her children, Christine Ann Gore, Duchesne; Victoria Lynn Clark, Seaside, Oregon; Richard Allen Clark, Surprise, Arizona; Ronald James Clark, Germany; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands. Her wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service may be held at a later date.
