Wanda “Diane” Rials passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. Born in Columbia on March 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Walter Talmadge Rials, Jr. and June Swindler Rials. She graduated from Newberry College and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

Later she received her Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina. After graduating she began her career by teaching at Brookland-Cayce High School and later became the School to Work Coordinator for Lexington District II. She liked to plan and coordinate events and was the Parade Director for the West Metro Parade of Lights and the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially at the beach. Survivors include her brother, Danny Rials; her nephew, Nick Rials, and her great nephew, Alex Rials and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by many students, fellow teachers and administrators.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Bethel UMC, Columbia, SC. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel UMC, 4600 Daniel Dr., Columbia SC 29206 or to the charity of your choice.
