A graveside service for Wanda Fay (Ryan) Weber, 88, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in Wheatland, Wyoming with Deacon Terry Archbold of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church officiating. Wanda passed away at her home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Wheatland, Wyoming. Wanda was born on Thursday, July 17, 1930 in Wheatland, the daughter of Elsie (Smith) and Edward L. Ryan.

Wanda grew up in Wheatland with her brother Eddie Jr. and graduated from Wheatland High School. She then attended college at University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. She began working numerous clerk and secretary jobs in Wheatland including the Golden Rule Store.

In 1970, Wanda became the Wheatland Elementary School secretary where she worked for 23 years, retiring in the spring of 1993. Wanda met Harry Weber in Wheatland and was married February 18, 1951 at the United Church of Christ in Wheatland. Wanda and Harry had four children: Randy, Toby, Rhonda and Marty.

Wanda belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, and the Dorcas Society. Wanda spent many years singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School at the United Church of Christ. During the 1970’s Wanda and Harry teamed up to run the Wheatland Baseball League with Wanda running the nightly concession stand.

Wanda could be found at all of her children’s ball games and traveling all over the state of Wyoming to support WHS athletics. Wanda and Harry spent most of the 1980’s and 1990’s camping and fishing around the state. Wanda was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and she loved playing cards, board games, planting flowers, and gardening.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harry Weber of Wheatland; children, Randy (Nancy) Weber of Riverton, Wyoming, Toby (Shirley) Weber of Georgetown, Texas, Rhonda (Lee) Apodaca of Wheatland, and Marty (Jennifer) Weber of Thermopolis, Wyoming; and grandchildren, Nicole and Eric Navarro of Riverton, Micah and Anthony Apodaca of Wheatland, and Ashlynn and Elisa Weber of Thermopolis. Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Edward L. “Eddie” Ryan Sr. on December 13, 1989; mother, Elsie Ryan on December 11, 2000; brother, Eddie Ryan Jr. on February 19, 1997; and infant daughter, Cathy Weber. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Wheatland Services for Seniors, 1605 Sixteenth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 or to the Wheatland Meals on Wheels.

Family and friends may attend a viewing at the Gorman Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The Gorman Funeral Homes are in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. gormanfh.com.
