Warren Wandling Sr, November 07, 1934 — January 25, 2019

Warren’s Obituary Warren Wandling, Sr., beloved husband, father and grandfather died peacefully on January 25, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas. Warren was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 7, 1934. He was the son of Dorothy Orr Wandling and Lee Wandling.

Warren grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Kansas Jayhawks fan. He loved fishing and spending time with the “fish group” from Wisconsin. He attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.

He earned a bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in communication. He was also a member of the ROTC. It was at KU where he met his devoted wife Nancy Simone from Pittsburg, Kansas.

Warren joined the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and was later promoted to Captain. When he finished his responsibility with the U.S. Army, he and his family returned to Milwaukee where he joined the Equitable Life. He remained in the Army Reserve for many years.

Warren was a member of the Rotary for over 40 years and received the Service Above Self Award and was also a Paul Harris Fellow. Warren had a lengthy career with Equitable Life of New York. He was an agent and later a District manager, Warren retired as the agency manager with AXA Equitable in Wichita.

He earned his CLU and Chartered Financial Consultant designation. He also received the National Citation Award and the White Eagle Award. He had a weekly television show “Business in Management” with numerous esteemed guests.

Warren leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy; three sons, Lee (Sallie) of Denver, Warren (Suzanne) of Kansas City, Todd (Brenda) of Houston, and six grandchildren. A service to celebrate Warren’s life will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 2:00 pm, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church Chapel located at 1958 N. Webb Road, Wichita, Kansas. A family burial will follow.
