In Loving Memory of Wayne Alden Jensen Wayne Alden Jensen was born on October 23, 1941 in Tracy, Minnesota to Alden and Mildred (Haberman) Jensen. Wayne was baptized on December 7, 1941. He often referred to himself as a history baby because he was baptized the same day Pearl Harbor was invaded.

He grew up on the family farm in Currie and attended school in Currie and Tracy. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1959. He worked in construction for a few years while also farming.

He was a member of the Army Reserve from 1963 to 1971. In August of 1965, Wayne married Dorothy Reiter at IHM Catholic Church in Currie. Wayne and Dorothy resided on the same farm Wayne had grown up on.

They raised two children; Doug and Kathy. Wayne retired from farming in August of 1985 but continued to help Paul and Pam Gervais on their farm. He finished his working career as a Superintendent of Greens at Tracy Country Club.

Wayne passed away on August 30, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 76. He was a member of the IHM Church, the American Legion Post #322, Currie Town and Country as well as the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Murray Township Board for forty years.

Wayne loved to watch the Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid golfer. Wayne recorded a hole in one at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club witnessed by his son, son-in-law and grandson during a 2005 Jensen family vacation.

He really enjoyed hunting with the annual deer hunt being his favorite. Wayne and Dorothy were fortunate to winter in Texas for many years, which was always an annual highlight for Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jensen, of Currie, Minnesota.

Two children and their spouses, Doug and Kim Jensen of Worthington, Minnesota, Randy and Kathy (Jensen) Felch of Farmington, Minnesota. Three grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Jensen of Larchwood, Iowa, Mitchell (Erin) Jensen of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota and Kailey Felch of Farmington, Minnesota. Three great grandchildren, Aubryn and Ottalyn Jensen of Larchwood, Iowa and Baby J. (still on the way) of St. Bonifacius, MInnesota.

Five siblings, Glen (Jane) Jensen, Lee (Sue) Jensen, Shari (Mic) Sellner, Bruce Jensen and Pam (Paul) Gervais. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survived him. His father Alden and mother Mildred preceded him in death.

Funeral Services IHM Catholic Church in Currie, Minnesota on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 11:00 am with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting, Pastor officiating. The organist is Patty LeClaire.

The pallbearers are Jim Gervais, Tom Gervais, Paul Gervais, George Andert, Ben Gervais and Mitchell Jensen. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Kuehl, David Schreier and Bill Oliver. Interment is at IHM Catholic Church Cemetery in Currie, Minnesota.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 3, 2018 at IHM Church in Currie from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at church on Tuesday.
