Wayne’s Obituary Verlin Wayne Starnes was born April 27, 1960 to Bob and Billie and Starnes in Wichita, Kansas. He departed this life April 12, 2019 at the age of 58 years 11 months and 16 days with his family by his side. Wayne was a 1978 graduate of Star Spencer High School and had been a Paden area resident since 1988.

Wayne Starnes and Tammy Keeton were united in marriage September 19, 1991 in Slick. From the marriage, Wayne gained Kevin Bryant as a brother and fishing buddy for life. As well, from this union, was born a son, Robert.

Wayne worked in many facets to support his family, including contract pumping in the Oklahoma oilfields, and heavy equipment operator for Okfuskee County. He later became the owner/operator of Paden Mud Bog and Rock Climbing in Paden, Oklahoma. As a young boy, Wayne built electric model trains and track systems; many of which are still working today.

He became an avid fisherman at a young age and spent any available time fishing and camping with his family. Wayne and Kevin talked daily and spent countless hours fishing. He is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Tammy Starnes of the Paden home; mother Billie Starnes of Paden; one son, Robert Starnes of Paden; and brother, Kevin Bryant and wife Debbie of Slick Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Starnes; paternal grandparents, Owen and Hazel Starnes; maternal grandparents, Verlin and Viola Timmons and sister Kimberly Starnes. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the Starnes Family Cemetery with Steve Stone and Brother Terry Pittman officiating.
