Weldon Poteat January 26, 1957 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Weldon Lee Poteat, affectionately known as “Walee”, a native of Caswell County, was born in Orange County to the late George Louis Poteat and Mary Elizabeth McGhee Poteat on January 26, 1957. He loved to work on lawn mowers and mopeds and listening to music. He was a handy man.

He had a great heart and enjoyed helping people in the community in any he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: George Louis Poteat Jr., David Martin Poteat, James Howard Poteat, and Willie Gene Poteat. He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers: Melvin D. Poteat of the home, Frederick Leon Poteat of Burlington, and Linnell Poteat (Kym) of Elon; two sisters: Catherine Poteat of Graham and Brenda Ann Poteat of Haw River; sister in law: Bernice Poteat and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
