Now comes the time to say goodbye to Wendell. He was born December 24, 1943 to Jacob and Ruby Pentz. He was the youngest of 14 and the last to pass on.

He married Karen Marie Hoien in 1969. Together they had two children, Justin and Amanda. They were married 23 years, then divorced.

He married Mary Brooks in 1998. She died a few years later. In 2010, He married his current wife, Debbie.

He lived a full life with many adventures. He joined the Army in 1964. He served in Germany and volunteered for Vietnam.

Luckily, he was sent to Thailand instead. He rodeoed, bought and broke wild mustangs, and was a talented heavy equipment operator with Local #3, which he retired from. He later owned his own excavation business but, would rather be paid in warm beer than money.

He was a big hearted ole cowboy with a twinkle in his eye and mischief on his mind. The world will be a little more empty without him. They don’t make ’em like him anymore.

He was preceded in death by his mother, dad, 13 brothers and sisters, 2 wives, a grandson and a partridge in a pear tree. He is survived by wife Debbie, son, Justin (Trina) Pentz, daughter, Amanda Campbell, 6 grandchildren, Taylor (Matt), Nocona (Tanner), Wyatt, Aubrey, Coby and Jilliann, and his best Buddy, Frank the dog. Per his request, he will be cremated.

A graveside service and a Veterans Honor Guard will take place at Milton Cemetery, November 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. A Celebration of his life will be held November 3 at 3 p.m. at his bar on Hatchery Rd. Come have a drink to remember him, you’re welcome even if you don’t drink. His ashes will be scattered on Pentz hill at a later date.

We’d like to thank the staff at George E Whalen Veterans home for taking such good care of him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to any organization that supports our veterans or Alzheimer’s research.
