Wendell’s Obituary Wendell Walker, 88, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. He was born on March 9, 1930, in Newbern, TN, to the late Wess and Grace Wright Walker. Wendell was a barber for over 50 years and was a member of The Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Lovins and the Rev. Leonard Glover officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joy Walker of Dyersburg; three sons, Steve Walker (Gena) of Dyersburg, Roger Walker (Christy) of Union City and Tim Walker (Cathy) of Dyersburg; two daughters, Judy Patton (Ronnie) of Dyersburg and Janet Roberts (Keith) of Hendersonville; a sister, Jan Tucker (Jere) of Dyersburg; a brother-in-law, Jim Lawton of Burbank, IL; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Walker and Corine Walker, both of Dyersburg; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Lawton; two brothers, L.Q. Walker and Donald T. Walker; and a grandson, Samuel Walker. Pallbearers will be Steve Walker, Roger Walker, Tim Walker, Ronnie Patton, Keith Roberts and Tobey Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
