Wilbert “Wib”‘s Obituary STEELEVILLE – Wilbert “Wib” L. Koch, 71, of Steeleville passed away at 2:04 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home in Steeleville. Wilbert was born on October 30, 1947, in Murphysboro, the son of Herman and Wilma J. (Zang) Koch. He was a graduate of Trico High School of 1966, he then went into the service and is an Army Veteran of the Vietnam era.

Wib married Barbara Vogl on March 15, 1969, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point and they shared 50 years of marriage. Wib was an Elder of the church for many years, and he is retired from Color Art in St. Louis, Missouri. Wib is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, and the American Legion BBK Post #480.

Wib is survived by his wife; Barbara Koch, of Steeleville, children; David Koch, of Carpentersville, Illinois, Shirley (Jeff) Stegmann, of Campbell Hill, grandchildren; Ashleigh and Eric Stegmann, and Brandon Koch. He is also survived by a brother; Delbert Koch, of Carbondale, sister; Marilyn Kunde, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Mr. Koch was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, with Rev. Sean R. Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund.

Wilson’s Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
