Wilfred “Bill” Zoerb May 29, 1933 – January 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Wilfred J. “Bill” Zoerb, age 85, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, died early Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Bill was born in Two Rivers on May 29, 1933 to Harry and Julia (Matthias) Zoerb. He was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School and entered the U.S. Army in 1953, serving his country during the Korean War.
On September 5, 1953, he married Joyce M. Moseler at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Bill was employed with Hamilton Industries for 38 years, working in the print shop for most of those years. In his retirement years he served on the board of directors and as a volunteer at the Two Rivers Historical Society, which includes the Wood Type Museum, Farm Museum, and the Washington House.
Bill and Joyce were longtime members of Emanuel United Methodist Church of Two Rivers where Bill served on several boards until it’s closing. He then served as a trustee at Lakeshore United Methodist Church in Manitowoc. Bill was very proud to have achieved 60 years as a member of the Two Rivers Municipal Band; in his younger days he enjoyed hunting and shooting and was a member of Westshore Sportsman’s Club.
In more recent years he was involved as an active member of the Clipper City Model Railroad Club and it’s many functions until the time of his illness. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie and Todd Gates of Two Rivers, Diane and Jerry Koenig of Howards Grove; one son, James Zoerb of Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Nathan (Kelsey) Gates, Jennifer (Tony) Creager, Jeff Koenig; and four great-grandchildren: Selina, Austin, Caleb and Ethan. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Patricia Zoerb of Butler, WI, and Ruth (Don) Klein, John (Jacqueline) Moseler, Steven (LouAnn) Moseler, all of Two Rivers; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold (Lois) Zoerb, and Roy Zoerb, one infant brother, one infant sister, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Moseler. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. Rev.
Carly Kuntz will officiate at the service, with entombment to take place on Monday at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum. Military graveside rites will be accorded Monday at Knollwood Mausoleum prior to entombment by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
