William’s Obituary William A. Whitney, Jr. was born May 21, 1927 in Baltimore to the late William Whitney, Sr. and May Whitney. He was a long time resident of Glen Burnie and proudly served in the Navy during WW2 in Okinawa, Japan. Following his military service he made his career as a truck driver.

He was a life member of the lakeshore volunteer fire department auxiliary where he served as vice president and was their Monday night bingo caller for many years. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion post 276. In his free time Mr. Whitney enjoyed bowling, pinnacle, and playing card games.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nellie L. Whitney. Left to cherish his memory is his son William A. Whitney, III and wife Patricia, brother Emory Whitney, grandchildren Cristina Hardesty, Nicole Shinneman, Carly Link and great-grandchildren Nick, Alexa, Nathan, Ava, Zoey, Morgyn, Sydney and Richard, III. Mr. Whitney passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
