William “Bill” Johnson, 75 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Woodward. The family will receive friends at the Billings Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. William Lee Johnson was born on April 20, 1942 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Henry Frank and Opal Lucille (Glidewell) Johnson. Bill grew up in Laverne and graduated from Laverne High School.

He was inducted into the United States Navy in 1961. He served his country during… Read More » the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1965. He earned numerous medals, including a Bronze Star.

He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation until his retirement. Bill was a member of the 1000 Hills Church. He loved rebuilding Austin Healey’s and traveling.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, Kevin Johnson and wife Melani of Clever, Missouri; one brother Roy Johnson of Wyoming; one sister Carol Weder and husband Bob Bayne of Buffalo; two grandchildren, Colton and Jake Johnson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Opal Johnson, two brothers, Pete and Charles Johnson and one sister Flossie Balfour.
