Obituary for William “Bill” Knight, III Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. William “Bill” G. Knight, III, 56, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Yocona Cemetery in Taylor, MS. Bro. Robert Hogue and Bro.

Mike Vanderlip will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Knight was born and raised in Oxford.

He had many occupations throughout his life from truck driving, to keeping up with the landscaping at Yocona Cemetery. No matter what Mr. Knight’s job was, he always took pride in it, and he always made sure it was done right. However, what he truly loved was his volunteer work through the Taylor 9 Volunteer Fire Department, where he was instrumental in starting the organization.

Mr. Knight was also a volunteer firefighter for over 32 years. He was said to be one of the kindest men and would always find the time to help others in need. Mr. Knight was also fascinated with driving his tractors and classic cars.

He will be truly missed by all of his friends and family. Mr. Knight is survived by his sister, Regina (Jimmy) Stone of Oxford; his brother, Kevin Knight of Taylor; his wife, Cynthia Pullen Knight of Water Valley, MS; and a host of cousins. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Knight, Jr., and Sarah Laverne Knight.
