William’s Obituary William Gregg, Sr., 95, passed away Thurs, May 9, 2019. He was the loving husband of the late Reta (Long) Gregg . Born December 3, 1923, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Alma (Ramsey) Gregg.

Originally from Philadelphia, he also resided in Fort Washington, North Wales and Horsham. For 71 years he was an active member of Chelten Baptist Church and was recognized recently at the church’s 120th anniversary as the longest living member. William (Bill) Gregg, Sr. was a veteran of World War II where he served in the 69th Infantry in Germany.

He worked as a draftsman at PECO for 39 years, retiring in 1986. As a young man he enjoyed playing softball and continued playing with a church league for several years. Gardening was a favorite hobby and each summer his garden produced a bounty of vegetables.

He also enjoyed dabbling in woodworking when he had the time. Family was a high priority to Bill, and his deep commitment to his children and extended family was apparent to all who knew him. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting and music events, and was thrilled with the arrival of his great-grandchildren.

Holiday dinners with the entire family were also a highlight for him. Above all, his life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to his Heavenly Father. He understood and lived out the mandate to love God and others.

While he will be greatly missed, his family is thankful that he is now with the Savior he loved and served throughout his life. His survivors include four children, William Gregg, Jr, (Cheryl), Ambler, Alma Allen (Harvey), Warminster, Ruth Thomas (Bud), Bridgeville, DE, and Glenn Gregg (Barbara), Ft. Washington.

Additionally there are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. As his private burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Celebration of Life Services at Chelten, a church of hope, 1601 N. Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA 19025, will be announced later and added to this obituary.
