Obituary for William LaFitte Kerr William “Billy” Kerr entered into eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. He was born on January 9, 1956, in Charleston, South Carolina.

The relatives and friends of Billy Kerr are invited to attend a memorial service at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at Charleston Cremation Center & Funeral Home at 2054 Wambaw Creek Road, Suite A, on Daniel Island. A graveside burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Always someone who marched to the beat of his own drum, Billy was an avid fan of old movies, comic books and big band music. Billy graduated from Bishop England High School in 1975 where he played drums in the school band. He worked for 25 years alongside his parents in the Charleston Market from 1978 to 2003.

He was a devout Catholic who adored his 12 nieces and nephews as well as his two great nephews and great niece. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Basil J. Kerr, Sr. and Jeanne Ray Kerr. He is survived by his five siblings and their spouses: Basil J. Kerr, Jr., Suzanne Reed (Brian), Brian Kerr (Tammara), David Kerr (Dawn), and Christopher Kerr (Anna).
