Obituary for William R. Davidson William Robert Davidson, formerly of Hilltown and Souderton, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Township. He was 88. He was the beloved husband of Julia A. (Bolger) Davidson for 59 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George and Mae (Sullivan) Davidson. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Dobbins Vo-Tech High School. Mr. Davidson was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having served at the U. N. Military Cemetery from 1950-1951.

He also later served one year in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Employed by the former Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania for 35 years, Bill retired in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown.

A member of the American Legion Post #933, Hatfield, Bill was also very active with the Deep Run Sports Association from 1971-1984, serving on the Board of Directors and as a baseball and soccer coach. He was inducted into the Deep Run Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Bill enjoyed wood working, especially when creating toys for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He also never missed his weekly Tuesday night poker game with friends. In addition to his wife, Mr. Davidson is survived by his five children, William R. Davidson, Jr. (Colleen), Thomas Davidson (Debbie), John Davidson (Brenda), Donna Hoke (Barry), and Daniel Davidson (Denise); nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Widmeier and Ruth Nestor. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Davidson, and two brothers, George and Charles Davidson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927, where a visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to time of service. The family requests memorial remembrances in Mr. Davidson’s name be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, P.O. Box 31, Hilltown, PA 18927. To send flowers to the family of William R.
