Obituary of William Hogan William J. “Bill “Hogan, 80, of Johnson City, NY, passed away on October 7, 2018 in the presence of his loving family. Bill was born in Binghamton, NY to William L. and Marion (McKinney) Hogan on June 24, 1938. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1956.

He served in the U.S. Army. Bill worked at General Electric and Endicott Johnson followed by 32 years with the City of Binghamton in the department of Planning, Housing, and Community Development. He retired in December 2001.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anne (Jadick) Hogan; his son Christopher (Tina) Hogan, Boone, NC, and daughter Colleen (Eric) Tetzlaff, Jenkintown, PA; four grandchildren whom he deeply loved, Kyleigh Hogan, and Ciara, Anna, and Ryan Tetzlaff; siblings Mary (Bruce) Theobald, Vestal, NY, John, Upper Montclair, NJ and Perry, ME, Thomas (Kathleen), McLean, VA, Dr. Robert, Wilmington, NC, Ellen (John) Gannon, Ashburn, VA, Richard (Sheryl), Arlington Heights, IL, Teresa (Dr. John) Long, Woodside, CA, Anne (Ivan) Brown, Rockford, IL; sisters-in-law Donna Hogan, McLean, VA, Andrea (Ron) Majka, Binghamton, NY; brother-in-law William (Ida) Jadick, Sterling Heights, MI; and 33 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Gerald, McLean, VA, and sister-in-law Anne Hogan, Upper Montclair, NJ and Perry, ME. Bill was a very kind, giving, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

As the oldest of 10 children, Bill loved spending time at Skaneateles Lake for the annual Hogan family gathering. He loved bowling and golf, including spending the week at the BC Open each year, and rooting for the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. Bill was a dedicated member of St. James parish, involved over the years in many ministries as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Usher, Parish Council member, and Bingo caller.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the staff at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care they provided to Bill for the past 18 months. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Main Street, Johnson City, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s memory to St. James Catholic School, 155 Main Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 or to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131, or online at www.
