Lucile Pauline (Lane) Luther died early Monday morning, November 19, 2018, three days shy of her 93rd birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Milo and Lenora (Upson) Lane; her husband of 69 years, George Albert Luther; and brothers, Richard Lane, Donald Lane, and John Lane. She is survived by two sons, John Paul “Cave” (Marie) Luther of Syracuse, NY and Roger Lane (Katharine) Luther of Binghamton, NY.

She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Lucile was born and grew up in Locke, NY. She moved in 1956 with husband George and their two sons to Lakeland, FL where she spent the next 58 years.

She worked for the Singer Company in Lakeland selling sewing machines and fabric and retired after 25 years of service. Lucile was a highly skilled seamstress. She enjoyed playing piano and was an accomplished self-taught artist.

She also enjoyed working on family genealogies. The family wishes to express deepest gratitude to the staff at Elizabeth Church Manor and especially Brookdale Vestal West for their compassionate care that made her final years in Binghamton, NY comfortable and dignified. A special note of appreciation is extended to her friend, Joann at Brookdale for her loving care and companionship.

There will be no calling hours and interment will be private.
