Willis Gray, 89, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Fargo VA Hospital. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Faith Baptist Church, Bemidji with Pastor Derek Claypool officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Private inurnment will be in Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Willis Clifford Gray was born March 5,1929 in Stanton Township, MN to Clifford and Emma (Hanson) Gray.

He attended Clint Elementary School and received his GED from Braham High School in 1981 at the age of 52. In October of 1950, Willis enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in October of 1953, attaining the rank of Sergeant.

On February 4, 1951 he married Ruth Dahlberg in Stanchfield. He was active in the Baptist Church, drove the church bus to pick-up children for Sunday school and taught Sunday school, was a deacon and an usher. His last 20 years of life he dedicated to helping grade school children work through learning difficulties.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Gamauf of Finlayson, Joanne (Corwyn) Barfknecht of Hines and Kimberly Gray of Vancouver, WA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Walberg, Doran (Shirley) Gray, Robert (Diane) Gray, Elziabeth Boquist, Delorse Johnson and Eleanor (Charles) Grell.
