Wilma Dale Worthley Clotworthy, 87, of Eldon, MO died on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. She was born October 27, 1930 in Etterville, MO to the late Cecil H. and Ethel M. (Cunningham) Deffenbaugh. She was married to Paul Gene Worthley from August 14, 1952 until his death on February 14, 1982.

She was then married to Harold Winston Clotworthy from February 22, 1986 until his death on October 9, 2007. Dale had just recently moved back to Eldon after living 29 years in Bella Vista, Arkansas. During her years in Eldon, she graduated from Eldon High School, was a member of the First Christian Church, and worked as a bookkeeper for Rowlette and Associates.

After moving to Bella Vista, she became a member of the Bella Vista Community Church and spent her time playing golf, bridge, and reading. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Dennis Worthley of Gravois Mills; Lisa Vernon and husband Mike of Lee’s Summit; Lynn Newswanger and husband Harold of Eldon; and Daryl Worthley of Springfield; step daughter and foster daughter: Sue Clotworthy and Margaret Tarpy of Cocker; four grandchildren: Brittani Walker and husband Micheal of Eldon, Matthew Vernon of Lee’s Summit, Lucas Vernon of Wichita, Kansas, and Michelle Newswanger of Eldon; three great grandchildren: Tanner Walker, Tyler Walker and Elizabeth Vernon as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Milburn, Betty Jacobs, and Ina Faye Deffenbaugh. Services will be held Friday, July 27th at Phillips Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Foglesong officiating. Visitation begins at 5:00 PM and memorial service at 7:00 PM.

Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Parkinson’s Foundation, or Eldon First Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
