Wilma J. Whittington, age 81, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was a graduate of Jefferson High, National Business College and Hamblen School of Beauty. She retired after 36 years from Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Her life and love was centered around her 4 children and the 7 churches her husband pastored. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Rev. Dwayne Whittington; and parents, Floyd and Alice Carter.

She is survived by her children, Terri Allsup of Knoxville, Randy (Venita) Whittington of New Market, Vicki Hickey of Morristown, and Kevin Whittington of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Douglas Ballinger, Christopher Ballinger, Jennifer Hull, Eric Lawson, Paige Whittington; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jackie (Carolyn) Carter of New Market and Don (Marcia) Carter of New Market; sisters-in-law, Audrey Faust, Celia (Bill) Shell, Gwen Haas; brother-in-law, Allen Whittington all of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at Rocky Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Carter and Rev.

Ken Lacey officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Saturday in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
