Wilma passed away peacefully at The Saline Evangelical Home on Friday, February 1, 2019, at the age of 89. She was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on August 12, 1929 to Claude and Frances Walls and spent most of her life in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was married to Joseph E. Payeur for 55 years, who preceded her in death in 2006.

She spent her last few years under the excellent care of The Saline Evangelical Home. She is survived by her three children: Diane Sturman of Houston, TX; Daniel Payeur (Susan) of Saline, MI, and Dale Payeur of Buchanan, MI. Her grandchildren include Melissa Waltz (Jeff) of Saline, MI; Sean Payeur of Saline MI; Stefanie Hallock (Jeff) of Houston, TX; Jessica Sturman of Houston, TX; Jacob Payeur (Natalie) of Buchanan, MI, and he is currently serving our Country in the U.S. Navy; also Hannah Payeur of Buchanan, MI.

She has a great-grandson, Grayson James Hallock of Houston, TX. Her older sister, Mary-Margaret (“Mardie”) resides in Plymouth, MI. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews throughout the Michigan area.

After raising her children, she went to work for McNaughton & Gunn Printing Company where she served 19. 5 years. She enjoyed many arts and crafts throughout her life including pottery, jewelry sales, sewing, and was a wonderful cook!

One of her many passions was the love she had for the Detroit Tigers. Cremation has taken place by Nie Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, MI. No services are planned.
