Finger, Charles William. August 9, 1937 to March 21, 2019. Chuck died peacefully at his new home in Saline, MI, in the early morning on Thursday, March 21.

He was the beloved husband of Meredith (predeceased) and father of Kristin (Scott) Letscher of Chicago, Karla (Robert) Coghill of Cincinnati, and Ruth (Scott) Barrett of London, Ontario. Chuck earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He married his high school sweetheart Meredith and entered the army.

He rose to the rank of captain and was stationed in Texas and Minnesota. After his stint in the army, he returned to the University of Michigan where he earned his masters in business administration. After a long career in finance that took him from Grosse Pointe, MI, to Dallas, TX, Chuck and Meredith returned to Ann Arbor where they enjoyed their retirement while following the achievements of their five grandchildren: Teagan and Maeve Letscher, Eric Coghill, and Timothy and Julia Barrett.

Chuck’s life will be celebrated in a memorial service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor on Saturday, March 30th at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UMGASS (911 North University Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1265) or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (1400 W Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103). Chuck liked to leave a room with these words from The Wizard of Oz, “I’m about to embark on a hazardous and technically unexplainable journey into the outer stratosphere…to confer, converse and otherwise hobnob with my brother wizards”.
