Winifred Bernice Panko, 95, formerly of Edinboro, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Wellsboro, PA. She was born in Edinboro on September 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Andrew and Alice (Bierwerth) Wetsell. Mrs. Panko was a homemaker, and loved to knit and crochet.

She was employed as a housekeeper at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for 10 years, and was a past member of Edinboro Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Steve Panko, Jr.; a son, Robert Panko; a daughter, Alice Kleckner; 2 brothers, John and Russell Wetsell; 2 sisters, Dorothy Wetsell and Charlotte Webster, and a granddaughter, Koreen Dawn Kleckner. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Wetherbee and her special friend, Don Wivell, of Wellsboro; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Panko; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
