Mr. Woodrow (Woody) Glenn Beard of Red Springs, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton at the age of 74. Woody was born on September 9, 1944 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Jasper Lee Beard and Beulah Spell Beard. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Hunting Club and a former member of the Bonnie Doone Volunteer Fire Department in Fayetteville, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Womack Beard of Red Springs, NC; four sons, Woodrow Glenn Beard II, (Maria) of Ocala, FL. , David Beard (Terry) of Ocala, FL, Shelton Lee Beard (Natasha) of Red Springs, NC and Matthew Beard (Kesha)of Maxton, NC; eleven grandchildren, Glenn III, Brandon, Shelby, Jordan, Brittany, Ashley, Shelton II, Briana, Nevaeh, Keylona, and Matthew Jr., five great grandchildren, Caden, Olivia, Jaelynn, Maddox and Tucker, and a brother, James Beard (Beverly) of Fayetteville, NC. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC A memorial service will be announced later.
