Obituary for Wydene Dora High Pine Wydene D. High Pine, age 38, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born on July 17, 1980, in Pine Ridge to Franklin and Shirley (Jealous of Him) High Pine. She graduated with Honors from Pine Ridge High School in 1999, where she met her significant other James Rowland.

She had only one son Cassius Rowland on July 17, 2004. She worked multiple jobs and her primary care and love was her son. Wydene truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending time with her niece and later nephews.

Wydene had a way of reaching people in a deep and positive way. She is survived by her son, Cassius Rowland, aunt Erdine Red Ear Horse, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, Friends and Relatives who have been touched Wydene are invited to share this time at Br.

Wydene is survived by her son, Cassius Rowland; aunt, Erdine Red Ear Horse; siblings, Kathryn Blindman, Rose Blindman, Isaac Running Shield, Valentina Merdanian, Michelle High Pine, Georgette Blind man, and Harland High Pine, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Catherine Jealous of Him; uncle, Albert Jealous of Him; nieces & nephews, Alexandria Merdanian-Montgomery, Russell Merdanian, Jr., J.J. Brown, Destiny Short Bull, Faith Short Bull, Ashton Short Bull, Isaac Running Shield, Jr., Summer Running Shield and Patricia “P.J.” Running Shield; mother-in-law, Virginia Morrison, father-in-laws, Bill Morrison and Ronald Rowland; and in-laws, Rose, Marion, Philip, Tylor, Benton and Arlin Rowland. Wydene was preceded in death by her father, Franklin D. High Pine; mother, Shirley Jealous of Him-High Pine; paternal grandparents, Matthew High Pine and Eunice Red Ear Horse; maternal grandfather, Roy Jealous of Him; uncle, Harland High Pine, Sr.; aunts, Neomi Jealous of Him and Audrey Martinez; and significant other, James Rowland.

Wake Services: One night wake services starting at 5:00 PM, Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
