OBITUARY Yvonne Frances DeLuca April 2, 1950 – November 9, 2018 Yvonne (“Bonnie”) Frances DeLuca, age 68 of Bel Air, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through five brave years of battling multiple myeloma cancer. Bonnie was born to the late David and Elizabeth Denaro on April 2, 1950.
She attended Patterson High School in Baltimore, graduating and then marrying the love of her life, the late John DeLuca. She was an active, dedicated mother and homemaker, an avid churchgoer, and a hardworking cashier for Giant Food in Bel Air for 20 years. Bonnie loved holidays and family get-togethers; spending time with family was always the most important thing to her.
She grew up spending summer vacations and holidays with a large extended family, including younger siblings David and Susan, the late Ricci Denaro. Together, she and John took the children on many memorable camping trips with family, neighbors, and friends. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for family gatherings, one of her specialties being cake baking and decorating.
In later years, she loved and looked forward to visits with her grandchildren and her outings with “the girls” and her dear friend, Dave. Throughout her life, she faithfully cared for her family and friends. Bonnie is survived by her two children, Alisa and Jeremy; her five grandchildren, Shane, James, Max, Madie, and Heather; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms, from too many people to name individually, but Alisa and Jeremy would especially like to thank our Aunt Susan and Uncle David, along with Susan’s husband, Mark, and David’s loving partner, Joanne, for their endless and loving help during Mom’s last few years. It meant the world to her and to us. Many people say there is nothing like a mother’s love, and they are right.
Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, paving the way for us, and always, always loving us. We will work hard to reach the standard you set.
You are and always will be our sweet, beautiful angel. Spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones, and make a toast to enduring relationships, lifelong and beyond. That is what Bonnie would wish for you.
Today, she is happy and dancing with lost loved ones. Probably on a table. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 West MacPhail Road (at RTE 24) on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 South Conkling Street, Baltimore, MD 21224 on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10:30 am with interment to follow at the Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
