Zulo VonLee Kizer was born November 17, 1973 to Rose Kizer and Johnny Jones in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his residence. “VonLee” as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at Mt.

Olive Baptist Church where he was baptized by his grandfather, the late Rev. McKinley Kizer, Sr He graduated from Wayne High School in 1991.

VonLee worked for State Developmental Center for many years until they closed; he was also employed by AWS until his health began to fail. Anytime you saw VonLee he’d always have a large gas station slushy in his hand. When you didn’t see him, you’d be sure to find him hanging with his Kizer uncles.

He was truly an old soul. He had a special love for his church, Mt. Olive, his three beautiful children, uncles, cousins and old school music.

He was indeed a family man, who loved the Lord. He wanted all his family in church and on time. Anytime anyone in his family was not at church; you better believe that when he did see you, he’d say, “I want to see you in church next Sunday”.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his three beautiful children who were his world, VonQuaysha S. Williams, JaVonte Lee Kizer and Javion Lamont Kizer; granddaughter, Acyiah Rose Williams; mother and stepfather, Rose J. Kizer-Hamlet and James Hamlet; brothers, Donsia Kizer and Cameron Kizer, Sr.; sisters, Chontel Kizer and TaMisha Kizer; uncles who were also his best friends, John Kizer, Robert Kizer, Pastor James Kizer, Joe Kizer, Albert Kizer and Michael Kizer; aunts, Retta Kizer, Verna Jones and Shirley Adkins; special cousins, Clarence “Lonell” Kizer and Robert Kizer; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Jones; maternal grandparents, Rev.
