Aaron J. Scharpe, age 37 of Green Isle died Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home in rural Green Isle. Memorial Service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, March 2nd at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington with Rev. James Carlson officiating.

There will be no prior visitation to the service. Instead, following the service at the church, there will be an Open House Celebration of Life held at the Arlington Community Center from 4-7 pm. The placement of his urn will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.

Aaron was born on April 22, 1981 to Steven and Cindy (Reilly) Scharpe in Glencoe. He was baptized on May 17, 1981 and confirmed on April 21, 1996. He graduated from Sibley East High School in 2000.

He received a degree in Accounting from Mankato State University in 2005. Aaron worked as a finance manager for the City of Chaska, he was also the financial secretary for Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Sibley Medical Center Foundation.

Aaron was a man of many skills and lived life to the fullest. When he wasn’t traveling or cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, he would enjoy his time spent at home baking. He especially enjoyed making different types of bread and worked hard to master Grandma Scharpe’s bun recipe.

Aaron had a green thumb and spent many hours ensuring that the landscape was up to his standard. He had a wonderful sense of humor, which his family highly appreciated. He greeted everyone with a smile.

He taught us all how to rise above unbearable trials with kindness and smiles. He was not one to give up easily and fought through every set back thrown his way. Aaron touched the hearts of every person around him.

He will be remembered for his smile, upbeat personality and zest for life. Blessed be his memory. Aaron is survived by his parents, Steven and Cindy Scharpe; sister, Malorie Scharpe (special friend, Alonzo Hunter); aunts and uncles, Wayne and Mary Neubarth, James and Myrna Scharpe, Neil and Jo Lynne Scharpe, Kathleen and Brian Oelfke, Jane Scharpe and Dave Breyer; cousins; and many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Iona Scharpe, and John and Ruth Reilly; aunts and uncles, John and Louise Reilly, Michael Reilly, and Donald Scharpe; and cousin, Kari Reilly.
