Gregg Allyn Voss, age 70, passed away suddenly on February 23, 2019 on his hobby farm. Celebration of Life will be on Friday, March 1, 2019, 4:00 p.m. at the Caribou Gun Club south of Le Sueur, MN. Visitation will at the Gun Club on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Following the 4:00 p.m. celebration; sharing, social and refreshments.

Gregg was born February 14th, 1949 in Le Sueur, MN. He graduated from Le Sueur High School and attended Mankato State University. He was later drafted into the United States Army where he served in Vietnam.

Gregg was proud to be a US Veteran. An avid outdoorsman Gregg had a love for fishing, trapshooting, and above all, hunting. He made many memories with family and friends in the woods of Le Sueur County, the mountains of New Mexico, the hills of Alaska, the waters of Canada, the prairies of the Dakotas, and the grasslands of South Africa.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest sharing his smile and infectious laugh with friends, family, and everyone he encountered. Although he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2006, he did not slow down. He lived by his motto, “It is what it is” every day.

Whether he was working hard, playing hard, or handling the cards that he was dealt without a complaint, he embodied these words. His magical thumbs were known for creating beautiful flower and vegetable gardens which he graciously shared with others, finding a few winners while pulling tabs or scratching lotto tickets, and schooling opponents in Euchre. Although he was a man of few words, his friends and family knew they were loved.

He leaves behind the love of his life and caretaker, Louisa, his wife of 47 years and his beloved children, Tricia (Scott) Ruud of Belle Plaine, Julie (Matt) Carlson of Bloomington, and Brian Voss of Belle Plaine. His grandchildren, whom he cherished and was forever proud of will deeply miss his love, support, and life lessons. Alec, Griffin and Lari Ruud, along with Cooper Carlson gave him the title, Grandpa, which he carried with pride.

He also leaves missing him, his mother, Mary Jane Voss, siblings, Diane (Windy) Block, Sue (Jerry) Gill, Deb Voss, Randy Voss (special friend Ann Osborn), and Scott Voss. Brother and Sister in Laws, Art (Barb) Straub, Don (Jane) Straub, Mary Straub, Janet Straub, Sam (LuAnn) Straub, Pete (Sylvia) Straub, Lyle (Connie) Straub, and Susie (Rick) Edberg. Many nieces and nephews will also cherish memories of him.

He will share a Hauenstein over a round of trapshooting with his Dad, Earl Voss in heaven and many other loved ones that preceded him in death. His legacy of unconditional love will live on. “Family is not an important thing, it is everything”.
