Addie Lee Lindsey was born May, 19, 1946 to Rosie Lee Still and Jeff Alber Breakfield in Bradley, Arkansas. Addie was the third of eleven children. Addie graduated from Bumpham High School of Bradley, Arkansas.

She then relocated to Kansas City, Missouri where she became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Soon thereafter, she became a devoted and faithful member of Community Praise Worship and World Outreach Center formally known as Community Missionary Baptist Church. Over the last 45 years, she served in various organizations, lastly with the Mother Board, and the infamous Golden Girls singing group.

Over the years, Addie was an integral member of KPRT’s Scripture Shower group. She loved organizing various activities and cherished the fellowships throughout the years. Addie was affectionately known as Aunt Dimple, Toots, Dr. Dimp, Mother Addie, and Mother Lindsey, just to name a few.

She had a love for many things, one being the most important and dearest to her heart was cooking. Cooking was her way of life and many of us have a favorite dish of hers. She worked at various jobs as a cook and retired from the Salvation Army in 1997.

Addie will always be remembered with the most unique telephone greeting “Hello, the Lord loves you and so do I.” Her greeting wasn’t just her catchphrase, that’s how she lived her life. She never met a stranger, and she was proud to say the phone was her ministry. Her praise was a blessing to all who knew her and may her spirit live on in us.
