Obituary for Agnes “Anna” Battaglia Agnes “Anna” Battaglia, 94, of Keansburg, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family, on Friday, August 10th, at Home. She was born and raised, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Keansburg in 1943. Anna worked as a cashier alongside her husband at their business Sandy’s Italian/American Grocery, which was located in Keansburg.

She enjoyed going to Atlantic City and the horse races, and loved to play cards. She is predeceased by her children, Barbara Ann Montella and Santo “Sandy” Battaglia III. Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 75 years, Santo P. “Sandy” Battaglia Jr, of Keansburg; two grandsons and granddaughters in-law, Vincent and Yndira Montella and Anthony and Judith Montella both of Florida; three great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Thursday there will be a 12:00 PM Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Keansburg and the entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
