Obituary of Agnes Powers Agnes Cornelius Powers, 95, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at her residence. Agnes was born in Gadsden, Alabama on November 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Samuel C. Cornelius and Beatrice DeHart. She was the widow of Jefferson L. Powers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant son, Michael L. Powers, sister, Katherine C. Powers and brother, John W. Cornelius. Agnes was a retired employee of International Paper Company’s Container Division of 27 years. Agnes was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church since 1949.

In 1994 she was presented the Honorary Life Membership of the women of the church. She was a charter member of the Leila Ford Sunday School Class and also a member of Leila Marvin circle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidelands Hospice at 2591 North Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
