Alda Marie “Nikki” Timmerman, 88, of State College Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019. Nikki was born in Turbotville, Pennsylvania, on September 12, 1930.

Raised on a farm and receiving her primary education in a one-room school house, she attended high school in Lewisburg and graduated as an RN from Temple University. While working at a hospital in White Plains New York, she met and married Theodore “Ted” Timmerman, an active duty sailor. Upon Ted’s discharge from the Navy the couple moved to New York where Ted became a New York City policeman and Nikki stayed home to raise six sons, working again as a nurse when the youngest entered high school.

Upon their joint retirement in 1986, Nikki and Ted moved to Lords Valley in the Poconos enjoying time to travel and visit with their sons and their families. When Ted passed away in 2002 Nikki moved to State College and became an active member of the community. She joined Pine Hall Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Breast Care Center and with Meals on Wheels, and ushered for the Center for the Performing Arts.

She enjoyed bible study and was an avid card player. She was extremely loving and hardworking and had a full and wonderful life. Her family is grateful for her example and feel blessed she was with us so many years.

Nikki is survived by five of her six sons: Ted and Teresa Timmerman of State College, Pennsylvania, Mike Timmerman and Deborah Fleming of Keene, New Hampshire, John and Debbie Timmerman of Pittston New Jersey, Carl Timmerman of Orem, Utah, Matt and Jenn Timmerman of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, daughters-in-law Georgette and Stephanie, and 13 grandchildren and a great grandson. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Ted, and her son Jeff Timmerman. The viewing will be at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, Pennsylvania 17772, from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Monday, February 4, where the funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, with her pastor, Rev.

Susan Williamson, officiating. Burial will follow, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, at the Exchange Cemetery in Exchange, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Hall Lutheran Church, 1760 West College Ave.
