Alexander F. Ohlson III, 75, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Boston, MA on January 1, 1944 son of the late Alexander F. Ohlson II and Evelyn (Riley) Ohlson. Alex was a graduate of E. Boston High School and later attended Salem State College.

He worked many years in the fishing industry at The Boston Fish Pier and more recently at Ocean Crest Seafoods. Alexander was a member of the USPTR and the Seafood Worker’s Union, Local #15. In his spare time, he loved to work out and lift weights at the YMCA.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Sandra L. Dodge and her husband Christopher of New Hampshire, Suzanne M. Lazzaro and her husband Christopher of Swampscott, MA; grandchildren, Kelsie, Tyler and Jacob Dodge, Nicholas and Alexander Lazzaro; 3 sisters, Dorothy Ohlson of Revere, Jacqueline Ohlson of Worcester and Judy Favaloro of Revere; his brother, Robert Ohlson of Athol, MA; his former wife, Linda M. Ohlson of Swampscott and many nieces and nephews. His service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Saturday, February 23, at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Boys Town, 100 Flanagan Blvd.
