Alice Faye (Collins) Sudduth, age 70 of Rising Sun, Indiana passed away on April 22, 2019. She was born to the late William Garret and Mary Marie Collins on June 30, 1948. Faye went to Glenn Este High School and attended vocational school to pursue her dream to be a licensed cosmetologist.
She pursued that career serving others for over 35 years. Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Faye’s passion and delight. She grew up spending as much time as she could with her sisters and cousins.
She married and survived Orion Glenn Rutherford and soon afterwards gave birth to the love of her life, her daughter, Ann Marie (Angel) Miller. As years passed, she never dreamed she could love again and then she met and married the late Doug Sudduth over 16 years ago. Along that journey Angel made Faye as happy as shes ever been by giving her two beautiful Grandchildren, first Victoria and then Hunter.
Faye would light up like a Christmas tree when telling stories about them or showing off their precious pictures. Faye would tell you she had a good life, some good days and some bad days like most of us. The thing about Faye is you would rarely know if she had a bad day.
If you asked her how she was doing, she would tell you she was “as fine as a frog hair”. Ladies and gentleman, that’s pretty fine! Regardless of where Faye was in her life, she showed her love through the food and baked goods she lovingly prepared for everyone to enjoy.
Nothing made her happier than to put a smile on your face with her home-made pies and then spoil you by giving you her hand-made crafts she loved making. Faye lost her parents Bill and Marie Collins at a very young age. However, not many days passed that she wouldn’t fail to mention the love she had for her Mom and she recalled those fond memories with her.
Faye’s survivors include her daughter, Ann Marie (Angel) Miller of Danville, Kentucky, grandchildren Victoria and Hunter Miller of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, sisters; Billie Lewis (James) of Goshen, Karen King (Bob) of Rising Sun, Indiana, and Mary Ann Jackson (Leon) of Newark Ohio; many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and her in-laws Calvin and Ruby Sudduth. Funeral services and burial will be held at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home, Frankfort, KY on Monday, April 29th@ 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held 11 to 1 p.m. The family wishes to thank those who have extended emotional support to Angel during her mother’s final days.
